ABOUT ME
As a mental health therapist, I specialize in working with Autistic and ADHD adults. My practice has, for years now, particularly focused on recently diagnosed and self-diagnosed adults. Over the years, it became evident that traditional therapy and evidence-based “best practices” had little to offer this population and failed to meet all the needs of Neurodivergent people. In response I have developed theories, lessons, and metaphors that help clients learn to accept themselves and live their best lives.
I am – at my core – a helper.
However, the other facets of my identity strongly inform my work and allow my clients to feel connected to (and have mutual understanding with) me as a therapist/coach/teacher.
I love to work with Neurodivergent people because I am Neurodivergent myself. I was not diagnosed with ADHD until I was in my mid-twenties, and am only recently coming to understand myself as AuDHD, so the experience of growing up undiagnosed helps me understand the pain and trauma of struggling in ways that others cannot see or understand – the pain of blaming myself for failing to do what others seemed to do naturally and easily.
